What you will do\u00a0\u00a0As a critical part of the team, the Commercial Installer works onsite with our commercial customers to set up and program their integrated fire and security systems. The Commercial Installer also dismantles and reconstructs equipment, when necessary, in both new construction and existing buildings.\u00a0\u00a0This skilled position involves installing wiring, programming, troubleshooting, configuring, commissioning, and servicing Fire Alarm Systems, Access Control, and CCTV Systems as well as other related building system products at customer sites including panel repair\/reprogramming, device replacement\/repair, resolving low voltage circuit troubles and system testing. The position involves the installation and programming of fire alarm, security, and access control system panels, but will primarily focus on fire alarm systems.\u00a0\u00a0Organize and effectively utilize technical resources, information, material, and support to ensure efficient execution of all assigned tasks.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0May manage installation teams including sub-contractors on larger projects. Coach and mentor less experienced installers. Travel required, using the provided company vehicle and equipment if\/as needed.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0How you will do it\u00a0Perform installation\/programming on integrated security and fire alarm systems\u00a0Capable of installing cabling, field equipment & control equipment enclosures in customer locations according to the national electric code, company and customer guidelines.\u00a0\u00a0Respond to customer service calls in a timely and efficient manner, troubleshoot, and repair as needed.\u00a0May be required to participate in after-hours service program as needed if demand requires.\u00a0Communicate with central dispatch on current installation status and receive updates on outstanding customer issues.\u00a0\u00a0Contact customers prior to the date of scheduled installation to verify the schedule.\u00a0Test\u2019s operation of systems to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Coordinates installations with AHJ\/police\/fire departments and handles necessary records of completion\u00a0\u00a0Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software\/systems programs, schematics, and operational\/product manuals.\u00a0Supervise and inspect the installation of equipment to meet customer and contract specifications\u00a0Complete necessary certification courses on internal and external products used.\u00a0Complete and submit all required task-related, activity, productivity, and other documentation promptly.\u00a0\u00a0Complete daily job updates and safety tasks as required.\u00a0\u00a0Can use electronic test equipment to troubleshoot complicated problems during installation.\u00a0\u00a0Readjust equipment, repair or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation\u00a0\u00a0Knowledge of computer programs including word processing, spreadsheets and databases; CCTV and access control systems; media storage.\u00a0\u00a0Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work paying close attention to details.\u00a0\u00a0Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, while establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.\u00a0\u00a0Ability to analyze information.\u00a0\u00a0Can work unsupervised to complete installation jobs and is self-motivated to complete jobs.\u00a0\u00a0Capable of using hand and power tools to properly mount and secure equipment\u00a0\u00a0Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets; then position and terminate cables, wires and strapping\u00a0\u00a0Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, and floors.\u00a0\u00a0Conduct End-user training.\u00a0\u00a0Ability to isolate trouble to a customer network, where applicable\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
What we look for\u00a0Required\u00a0\u00a0At least 5 years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire\/Life Safety Systems. (Notifier, Honeywell, Simens, EST-Edwards\/Kiddie)\u00a0\u00a0Understanding of the function and design of Fire Alarm Systems.\u00a0\u00a0High School Diploma or equivalent required\u00a0Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational\/product manuals\u00a0Experience with hand tools test equipment, multi-meter usage, digital analyzer and commissioning devices\u00a0Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.\u00a0Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.\u00a0Able to work flexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements\u00a0Overnight travel and work may be required\u00a0Demonstrate a high level of customer service\u00a0Ability to lead & work well with team members\u00a0Ability to adhere to, implement, and always follow safety guidelines and procedures\u00a0Strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly\u00a0Possess a valid driver\u2019s license and driving record that meets company requirements\u00a0Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test\u00a0Able to obtain and retain any licenses that are required by National, State, and Local codes\u00a0Advanced understanding of Network concepts and architectures.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Two-year associate degree in Electronics; Network; Computer Science or a related field\u00a0<\/p>\n
NICET level II, Access Control certifications, CCTV certifications, and experience bending conduit.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Additional experience a plus: MCSE, CCNA, Surveillance Systems, Intrusion Detection Systems, Perimeter Intrusion Detection Systems and Security Gate Operators.\u00a0<\/p>\n
