SR. GLOBAL SUPPLY MANAGER, CAPITAL EQUIPMENT (TERAFAB)<\/p>\n
SpaceX is the market leader in various product categories like human spaceflight, rapid vehicle reusability, and satellite-based internet services. We are investing heavily in even more product categories with ambitious plans to dominate those markets as well. The SpaceX Supply Chain Department is critical to these plans. The functions within the department include procurement, planning and fulfillment, supplier development and quality, logistics and inventory. SpaceX Supply Chain will play a key role in enabling SpaceX to meet these ambitious growth targets and to make humanity a multi-planetary species.\u202fThis individual will support a major semiconductor manufacturing initiative through the management and execution of capital equipment purchases. <\/p>\n
RESPONSIBILITIES: <\/p>\n
Work directly with key internal stakeholders to develop\/implement sourcing and cost management strategies; supporting capital purchases and production consumables
\nUnderstand the technical aspects of production equipment to identify opportunities for cost, space, and process optimization
\nUse data analytics to identify and bring to fruition process-related opportunities
\nUtilize negotiations to maximize value and ensure project timeline adherence while minimizing risk
\nBuild and own overall project budgets, compile funding requests, and generate capital plans, based on project timeline; including ownership of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for the categories managed
\nConduct research, perform benchmarking, and gather market analysis for assigned categories
\nCommunicate regularly to leadership on topics including overall equipment status, schedules, risks, and mitigation actions; while responding quickly to changes in the overall goals, schedule, and\/or architecture
\nTrack and report projected and actual spend, assess budgetary risk, and provide clear budgetary analysis to enable timely decision making
\nCreate sourcing strategies to reduce risk, enable continuous cost reduction, and align with company strategy on payment terms, cash targets, on-time delivery, and cost savings
\nBuild genuine relationships both internally and externally and drive cross-functional teams to achieve consensus
\nSource, onboard, and develop new suppliers to accommodate rapidly evolving business needs
\nWork with supply base to ensure support from vendors regarding setup, installation, repairs, and maintenance
\nExecute purchase orders and manage escalation process for \u201cpurchase to pay\u201d issues <\/p>\n
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: <\/p>\n
Advanced degree and 9+ years of experience working in one or more of the following; or bachelor\u2019s degree and 11+ years of experience working in one or more of the following; or 15+ years of experience working in one or more of the following: <\/p>\n
Engineering
\nPurchasing
\nContract negotiation
\nMaterial or production planning
\nOperations or supply chain management
\nMaterial cost control
\nMaster production scheduling <\/p>\n
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: <\/p>\n
Strong technical background to speak the language of engineers and strong business background to deal with contracts and negotiations
\nExperience with purchasing for more than one category
\nExtensive project management and organizational skills
\nExperience managing large scale capital projects
\nRemarkable problem solving skills with a bias for speed
\nQuick learner and ability to prioritize appropriately to meet customer and company needs
\nExcellent customer service skills
\nEffective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
\nExceptional analytical and organizational skills
\nStrong technical knowledge of MS Office Suite
\nAbility to conduct all activities with the highest degree of integrity
\nDetail-oriented, self-motivated and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment <\/p>\n
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: <\/p>\n
Ability to travel and communicate outside of work hours – up to 25% travel may be required (including international travel)
\nWillingness to work long hours and weekend when needed to meet critical deadlines
\nThis position is based in Bastrop, TX and requires being onsite – remote work not considered <\/p>\n
