SPACEPORT OPERATIONS SPECIALIST – TRANSPORTATION<\/p>\n
The role of a Spaceport Operations Specialist will be to provide leadership to the organization\u2019s housing accommodations, transportation, site amenities, and customer service activities. You will help develop and implement effective customer service strategies and training programs. The duties of Spaceport Operations Specialist will include but are not limited to: coordinating service operations, monitoring and motivating staff, ensuring excellent customer service, engaging with customers, hiring and developing talent, ensuring team is current with all mandatory company trainings, scheduling and payroll, interviewing, hiring and onboarding of new staff, setting and upholding customer service principles. The Spaceport Operations Specialist will support the mission by providing a foundation of understanding for excellent customer service and quality of living and visiting accommodations that boost morale and productivity within SpaceX.<\/p>\n
RESPONSIBILITES:<\/p>\n
Oversee Spaceport Village Operations including execution and organization of leasing\/rental housing program, transportation, amenities, and events
\nMonitor quality and consistency of Spaceport operations by setting and enforcing standards while inspecting and routinely walking areas of responsibility
\nTrain staff on customer service, anticipating guest needs and problem resolution
\nEnforce proper safety practices with staff and leads
\nCoordinate and enhance time management for team
\nMonitoring financial activities for Spaceport Operations strategically driving revenue and improving operating costs
\nCreate and maintain in-person and online training materials
\nOversee performance management for Spaceport Operations staff
\nAssist in all aspects of project implementation to build out Starbase Village as needed, including aesthetic industrial design improvements
\nProvide campus wide reporting on departmental spend, ticketing, and other metrics as requested
\nObtain multiple bids from competing contractors by creating scopes of work
\nPerform job walk-downs with vendors, engineers, supervisors, and managers
\nCreate RFPO\u2019s and assists the buyers with vendor selection
\nEnsure purchase orders are accurate with no cost over runs
\nPosition works closely with Spaceport Development Team, Facilities, Culinary and Hospitality teams<\/p>\n
BASIC QUALIFICATiONS:<\/p>\n
High school diploma or equivalency certificate
\n2+ years of experience within the hospitality or operations industry<\/p>\n
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:<\/p>\n
Experience opening new operations and\/or creating operational procedures from the ground up
\nExperience leading a team within the hospitality or operations industry
\nAdvanced knowledge of customer service and problem resolution
\nExperienced with Microsoft Office and Outlook
\nExcellent communication skills both written and verbal
\nExcellent knowledge of room inventory, housekeeping processes and guest service
\nExperience in a corporate environment
\nProficient knowledge of human resources management
\nAbility to organize work for large groups in various service formats
\nStrong time management skills
\nExperience with high volume, complex multidisciplinary operations
\nExperience leading groups in large team settings of 10 or more staff members
\nEye for aesthetic industrial design
\nExperience with facilities within an aerospace industry
\nFamiliar with space planning procedures and operations
\nAbility to create and update RFPOs and facilities work orders in an ERP software
\nAbility to work effectively in a team environment
\nAbility to make independent judgments with limited information
\nCommunication skills for relaying data (verbally and in-writing) between other employees, vendors, and customers
\nLogical and strategic approach to solving problems
\nAbility to read and understand basic floor plans
\nComfortable working in a high-stress environment balancing several projects at any given time, and the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes in strategic directions<\/p>\n
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:<\/p>\n
Must be willing to travel to other SpaceX locations for significant\/extended periods of time as needed (up to 85% of the time)
\nWillingness to relocate to Starbase, Texas with potential for shift work in a remote location
\nStand: Up to 6 hours per day
\nSit: Up to 3 hours per day
\nPush\/Pull: Up to 50lbs. (unassisted) 1-2 hours per day
\nOverhead reach: Up to 1 hour per day
\nWalk: Up to 3 hours per day
\nLift\/Carry: Up to 25lbs. (unassisted) 1-2 hours per day
\nClimb (ladder\/stairs): Up to 1 hour per day
\nKneel\/Crouch: Up to 1 hour per day
\nUpper body twist: Up to 1 hour per day
\nAbility to work in temperatures over 80 degrees up to 1 hour per day
