FACILITIES TECHNICIAN – TEMPORARY<\/p>\n
RESPONSIBILITIES: <\/p>\n
Perform routine building maintenance tasks, including non-technical troubleshooting and repair of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and\/or carpentry requests
\nConduct site-wide maintenance to our facilities, including painting, patching walls, replacing ceiling\/flooring tiles, and carpet
\nPerform inspections and repairs to assigned site interior and exterior areas, including walls, floors, installed fixtures, roofing systems, and lighting
\nAid janitorial and hospitality staff with general requests for support, including moving furniture, racks\/equipment, disposing of garbage using forklifted dumpster bins, and set-up and tear down of special event areas
\nManage other campus-wide operations and maintenance programs as assigned by facilities management
\nOperate forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts when needed
\nOpen, track, and resolve electronic work tickets on SpaceX\u2019s custom work order system
\nAdhere to proper safety guidelines at all times<\/p>\n
POSITION DETAILS:<\/p>\n
This is a temporary position with SpaceX, for the length of time as stated, and is subject to change with minimal notice as business needs dictate.<\/p>\n
LENGTH OF POSITION: 1 month
\nLOCATION: Starbase, TX
\nSHIFT: Must be available for all shifts (day shift, 6 AM – 6 PM or night shift, 6 PM – 6 AM), overtime and weekends as the schedule varies depending on site operational needs; flexibility is required<\/p>\n
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:<\/p>\n
High school diploma or equivalency certificate
\n2+ years of facilities maintenance experience<\/p>\n
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:<\/p>\n
Experience in construction, project management, equipment maintenance, and tenant improvements
\nExperience with plumbing systems, backflows, lift stations, sewer machines, and pumps
\nExperience with concrete, forming, and pouring
\nExperience with engineering and construction principles, methods, and codes
\nExperience with industrial compressed air systems and maintenance
\nExperience with carpentry maintenance tasks, including routine sheetrock\/drywall installation and\/or repair, window replacement, cabinet\/countertop replacement, painting\/texturing (interior and exterior), and door\/hardware installation
\nAbility to read instructions and blueprints
\nExperience with project management software, MS Excel, Word, or other project tracking software
\nGood written and verbal communication skills – MS Outlook and Teams
\nAbility to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
\nSelf-motivated, works well with others and autonomously
\nSafety training and use of forklifts, scissor lifts, cranes & hoists, and fall protection equipment<\/p>\n

Must be able to work all shifts and available for overtime, weekends and holiday as needed
\nValid driver’s license

\nPush\/Pull: Up to 75lbs. (unassisted) 2 hours or longer per day
\nOverhead reach: Up to 1 hour per day
\nWalk: Up to 6 hours per day
\nLift\/Carry: Up to 50lbs. (unassisted) 2 hours or longer per day
\nClimb (ladder\/stairs): up to 3 hours per day
\nKneel\/Crouch: up to 1 hour per day
\nUpper body twist: Up to 6 hours per day
\nAbility to work in temperatures over 80 degrees: up to 3 hours per day
\nCandidate must be capable of safely working at heights (up to 500ft), in confined spaces, using an air purifying respirator, and performing the physical requirements of the job listed in the job description. Candidate may be required to complete a pre-employment questionnaire and\/or physical to confirm these capabilities, which may include a medical history review. <\/p>\n
